The Inner Science of Happiness

Saturday 27 June  | 10:00 – 13:00

Venue | Compassion Kadampa Meditation Centre, 2 Station Rd, South Gosforth NE3 1QD.

Half Day Meditation Workshop with visiting teacher Gen Dragpa.

We all have an inbuilt capacity to feel a greater and more reliable authentic peace and happiness. Often, however, ingrained negative habits of mind lead us toward stress and worry, making it hard to feel balanced and positive in our daily lives.

The good news is that mental peace and resilience are skills that can be developed. By practicing meditation and shifting our perspective, we can learn to navigate life’s challenges with a steady, wise and positive mind.

What to Expect
In this half-day course, Gen Dragpa brings over 33 years of experience in Buddhist study and practice, will share practical methods for working with difficult emotions. You will explore how to:

    • Identify and release negative thought patterns.
    • Connect with your natural potential for authentic happiness.
    • Develop the “mental muscle” needed to maintain peace under pressure.

The session includes guided meditations designed to give you a direct, personal experience of the potential for peace and well-being that exists within everyone.

Whether you are brand new and curious about how meditation works, or an experienced practitioner looking to deepen your understanding, you are very welcome. We look forward to seeing you there!
